- Report news for a specific audience (Be aware of possible bias and target audience)
- Headline and lead paragraph contain the gist of the article
- Headlines are not the same as journal article titles. The same article can be headlined differently for different editions or papers across the country.
- Editorials are opinion pieces written by the newspaper editor or from people who write in to the newspaper.
